What is the C2 Business Visa?
The C2 Business Visa is Indonesia's single-entry visa for non-employment business activity. It allows a stay of up to 60 days and is designed for people coming to Indonesia to do business - but not to be employed in Indonesia.
That distinction is the whole visa. You may negotiate, inspect, attend and discuss. You may not be paid by an Indonesian company for work performed there.
What counts as business activity
Permitted on a C2:
- Meetings, negotiations and contract discussions
- Conferences, seminars and trade exhibitions
- Supplier and factory inspections
- Site visits and due diligence
- Market research and feasibility work
- Discussions with prospective investors or partners
Not permitted:
- Taking a salaried role at an Indonesian company
- Being on an Indonesian payroll
- Delivering paid services directly to Indonesian clients as a local operator
- Manual or technical work on site
If your work crosses into employment, you need a work permit. If you are investing in or running an Indonesian company, you need an Investor KITAS and a PMA company.
Who it suits
- Executives and directors visiting operations or partners
- Buyers and sourcing managers inspecting suppliers
- Consultants attending client meetings (paid from overseas)
- Investors conducting due diligence before committing
- Conference and trade-show attendees
C2 vs B211A vs Multiple Entry
| C2 Business | B211A | Multiple Entry D1 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stay | 60 days | 60 days | 60 days per visit |
| Entries | Single | Single | Unlimited |
| Purpose | Business focused | General visit | Repeat visits |
| Extendable | Check with us | Twice, to 180 days | Per visit |
If you visit Indonesia repeatedly for business, a Multiple Entry Visa is usually better value than repeated single-entry C2s - one application covers 1, 2 or 5 years of trips.
If you need a long single stay with the option to extend to six months, the B211A is the stronger choice.
Requirements
- Passport valid at least six months from arrival, with a blank page
- Passport bio page photo or scan
- Passport-style photograph
- Proof of onward travel
- Supporting business documentation - such as an invitation or details of the company you are visiting
- Sponsor where required - we arrange this
How to apply
- Tell us the purpose of your trip. This determines whether the C2 is right, or whether a multiple entry or B211A suits you better.
- Upload your documents - passport bio page and photograph.
- We prepare supporting and sponsor documentation.
- Pay securely via Stripe in AUD, converted at checkout.
- A licensed agent reviews the file before lodging with immigration.
- Receive your visa by email as a PDF for the border.
Processing time
Business visas require supporting documentation and government approval, so allow more time than an e-VOA. Apply at least three weeks before you travel, especially around Indonesian public holidays. If your dates are tight, ask about Express processing at checkout.
Practical notes for business travellers
Bring evidence of your purpose. Immigration may ask why you are visiting. Meeting invitations, company letters or conference registrations answer that instantly.
Do not overstate your activity. Describing your trip as "working in Indonesia" when you mean attending meetings creates unnecessary problems at the border. Business visits are exactly what this visa covers.
Watch the 60 days. A single entry means leaving ends the visa. Indonesia charges a daily overstay fine per person, so track the date on your stamp.
Frequently asked questions covered on this page
If you are unsure whether your specific activity is permitted, ask us before you book. It takes a minute and avoids a wasted trip - we would rather tell you the C2 is wrong for your situation than sell you the wrong visa.

Questions about the Single Entry Visa
What is the Indonesia C2 business visa?
A single-entry visa allowing up to 60 days in Indonesia for non-employment business activity - meetings, negotiations, conferences, supplier inspections, site visits and due diligence.
What can I do on a C2 business visa?
Attend meetings, conferences and trade shows, inspect suppliers and factories, conduct site visits and market research, and hold discussions with partners or investors. You cannot take paid employment from an Indonesian company.
Can I work in Indonesia on a business visa?
No. The C2 covers business visits, not employment. Being on an Indonesian payroll or delivering paid services locally requires a work permit, or an Investor KITAS with a PMA company if you're running a business.
How long can I stay on a C2 business visa?
Up to 60 days on a single entry. If you leave Indonesia the visa is used up - for repeat trips, a multiple entry visa is more practical.
C2 or B211A - which do I need?
Both allow 60 days. The B211A can be extended twice to 180 days total, so choose it for a long single stay. The C2 is purpose-built for business visits. We'll advise which fits your trip.
How long does the C2 take to process?
Business visas involve supporting documentation and government approval, so allow more time than an e-VOA. Apply at least three weeks before travelling, especially around Indonesian public holidays.
What documents do I need for a business visa?
A passport valid 6+ months with a blank page, a bio page scan, a passport-style photograph, proof of onward travel, and supporting business documentation such as a meeting invitation or company letter.
Do I need an invitation letter from an Indonesian company?
Supporting documentation showing the purpose of your visit is normally required, and a sponsor may be needed. We prepare the sponsor documentation as part of your application.
Can I extend a C2 business visa?
Extension options depend on your circumstances and the current rules - contact us with your dates and we'll confirm what's possible before your stay expires.
What if I make several business trips a year?
A Multiple Entry Visa (D1) is usually better value - one application covers 1, 2 or 5 years of trips at up to 60 days each, instead of applying separately every time.
