Do I need a company first?
Yes - an Investor KITAS is tied to a PMA company. We offer a bundle that sets up the company and your KITAS together.
Can I work on it?
You can work as a director/investor of your own company. To be employed by another company you'd need a Working KITAS.
What is the 2-year Investor KITAS?
The E28A Investor KITAS issued for a 24-month period, for foreign shareholders in an Indonesian PMA company. It works the same as the 1-year version but means one fewer renewal cycle.
Should I choose the 1-year or 2-year Investor KITAS?
If you're confident the business will continue, the 2-year permit means less administrative disruption and fewer renewal cycles. The 1-year suits those still testing whether the venture will proceed.
Do I need a company for the 2-year Investor KITAS?
Yes. Like the 1-year version, it is tied to your shareholding in an Indonesian PMA (foreign investment) company. If you don't have one, we establish the PMA and the KITAS together.
What is the minimum investment required?
Indonesia sets paid-up capital requirements that vary by business classification (KBLI) and are revised periodically. We confirm the current figure for your specific business activity before you commit.
Can I bring my family on a 2-year Investor KITAS?
Yes. Investor KITAS holders can sponsor dependents - spouse and children - on family permits, for the duration of the permit.
Can I work for my own company on this permit?
Yes, you can actively direct the company you hold shares in. What it doesn't permit is taking a salaried job at an unrelated Indonesian company, which needs a work permit tied to that employer.
Does the 2-year KITAS lead to permanent residency?
It can. After qualifying periods, Investor KITAS holders may progress to KITAP (permanent stay). A longer permit means you accumulate that qualifying time with less admin.
What passport validity do I need?
Your passport must be valid well beyond the permit period. For a 2-year KITAS that means substantial remaining validity - check your expiry date before applying.
What are the ongoing obligations?
Your PMA company has monthly and annual tax filings plus investment reports (LKPM). Spending over 183 days a year in Indonesia generally makes you a tax resident. Get qualified tax advice - we are not tax advisers.
How long does the whole process take?
