Every traveller entering Indonesia needs the All Indonesia arrival card. It's free on the official site and takes about 10 minutes per person. Here is every screen and question on the form, what to enter, and the mistakes that cause trouble at the airport.

Get your arrival card

Before you start: what you need

  • Your passport, valid for at least 6 months after you arrive. You need the passport of everyone you're adding.
  • An email address you can open on your phone. The verification code is sent there.
  • A mobile number.
  • Your arrival and departure dates, and your airline and flight number (or ship or vehicle).
  • Where you're staying first: the hotel name, or the full address and postcode of a villa or home.
  • The countries you've been to in the last 21 days, including the ones you change planes in.
  • How many bags you're bringing, and your seat number if you have it.

Use the official site only. The official address is allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id - it ends in .go.id. Several look-alike sites copy the name and charge a fee without making clear they aren't the government. We charge for filing the card too, but we say so: doing it yourself on the official site is free.

1Open the official arrival card form

Go to allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id and start the arrival card. Check that the form is marked Foreign Visitor - it's headed "Arrival Card Submission". The form has four tabs, filled in order with the Next and Back buttons at the bottom:

  1. Personal Information
  2. Travel Details
  3. Mode of Transportation & Address
  4. Declaration

The Languages button at the top switches the form's language.

2Personal Information

The first tab is about the lead traveller - the person submitting.

On the formWhat to enter
Passport/Country/RegionThe country that issued the passport you're travelling on.
Full NameExactly as printed in your passport.
Date of BirthIn day/month/year order.
Country/Place of BirthThe country you were born in.
GenderMale or female, as in your passport.
Passport NumberExactly as printed. Check zero against the letter O, and one against I.
Date of Passport ExpiryFrom your passport. It should be at least 6 months after your arrival.
Have you ever used a passport under different nationality/region to enter Indonesia?Usually No. Answer Yes only if you've entered Indonesia before on another country's passport - as a dual citizen, for example. You then give that passport's country and number.
Mobile Number and EmailYour contact details. The verification code goes to this email, so use one you can open on your phone.

Save typing: the green Scan MRZ button reads the two lines at the bottom of your passport photo page with your camera. The form also asks you to use the same passport as for your other immigration applications - the one your visa is in.

Travelling as a family or group

Press Add Traveller to add each person - up to 10 on one submission, children included. Each traveller gets their own personal details and health answers, but everyone on a submission shares the same arrival date, flight and address. If some of you arrive on a different flight or day, give them their own submission.

3Travel Details

On the formWhat to enter
Arrival Date to IndonesiaPick it from the drop-down. It only lists the dates you can submit for - if your date isn't there, you're more than 3 days out. Come back later.

Do you already have a Visa or Stay Permit?Yes if you already have an e-VOA, another e-visa or a stay permit such as a KITAS - then enter its number. No if you'll buy a visa on arrival at the airport, or your passport doesn't need a visa.

If you answer No, the form notes that you can apply for a visa on arrival after completing the arrival card. Getting the e-VOA online before you fly means you skip the payment queue at the airport.

The last tab has three parts. Each starts with an information panel - open it before answering, as the form asks.

Health declaration

On the formWhat to enter
SymptomsWhether you currently have a fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath, sore throat, skin lesions or rashes, diarrhoea, vomiting, bleeding, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Answering Yes brings up follow-up questions.
Countries visited within 21 daysEvery country you've been to in the 21 days before arrival, including where you start and any country you change planes in. You can choose more than one. Listing some countries in Africa or Latin America brings up an extra question.
Seat NumberFrom your booking or boarding pass. If you haven't picked a seat yet, you may be able to choose one in your airline's app.

Quarantine declaration

On the formWhat to enter
Are you bringing any animals, fish, plants, and/or their processed products? This includes food and goods made from them, such as meat, dairy, fruit, seeds or wood products. If you're not sure, answer Yes and show the item to the quarantine officer.

Customs declaration (BC 2.2)

On the formWhat to enter
Number of Baggage Arriving with YouHow many bags you're bringing.
Do you carry goods that must be declared to Customs?Open the list in the form first. It covers things like large amounts of cash, goods above the duty-free allowance, alcohol and tobacco over the limits, and restricted items. Most holidaymakers answer No.
Mobile phones, handheld computers or tablets bought abroad (IMEI Registration)The form itself says IMEI registration isn't required for foreign visitors staying under 90 days, so most visitors answer No.

Finally, tick the box certifying that you understand and agree to the information and declaration, then press Submit.

6Confirm the code from your email

Indonesia's system emails a short verification code to the email on the form. Enter it to complete the submission. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

7Save your arrival card and QR code

Once it's accepted you get your arrival card with a QR code. Download it or take a screenshot - you'll show it to immigration and customs when you land, and the airport may not have good signal. Lost it? Look it up again on the official arrival card retrieval page.

If your flight or arrival date changes after you've submitted, your card no longer matches your trip. Complete it again with the new details before you fly, and show the latest one.

Common mistakes

  • Trying too early. If your arrival date isn't in the drop-down, you're more than 3 days out.
  • A typo in the name or passport number. They must match the passport you travel on.
  • An email you can't open on the move. The code goes there.
  • One submission for people on different flights or days. Everyone on a submission shares the same trip details.
  • Leaving out a transit country in the 21-day list.
  • Thinking the arrival card is your visa. It isn't - you need both, unless your passport is visa-free.
  • Using a look-alike site that charges without saying it isn't the government.

Questions

Is the All Indonesia arrival card free?
Yes. Completing it yourself on the official site, allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id, costs nothing. Sites that charge, including ours, are private services that fill it in and file it for you.
How early can I fill in the arrival card?
In the 3 days before you arrive in Indonesia. The arrival date is a drop-down that only offers dates in that window, so if your date isn't listed you're too early.
Can I fill it in on my phone?
Yes. The official site works in a phone browser, and its Scan MRZ button can read your passport details with the camera instead of you typing them.
Do children need an arrival card?
Yes, every traveller needs one, whatever their age. Add children as travellers on a parent's submission - one submission covers up to 10 people on the same trip.
Is the arrival card a visa?
No. It's a declaration, not permission to enter. You still need a visa, a visa on arrival or a visa-free passport, and the arrival card asks whether you already have a visa or stay permit.
Does the arrival card replace the e-CD customs form?
Yes. The All Indonesia arrival card includes the customs declaration (BC 2.2) along with the immigration, health and quarantine declarations, so there's no separate e-CD to fill in.
I'm only transiting. Do I need one?
Not if you stay airside and don't pass through Indonesian immigration. If you leave the airport, or pass immigration to change terminals, you need one.
Can someone else fill it in for me?
Yes. Anyone with your passport and trip details can submit it, and the lead traveller can submit for up to 10 people. The verification code goes to the email entered on the form.

Prefer us to do it?

Answer once, whenever suits you - even weeks ahead. We fill in and check every answer, file it in the 3-day window for your whole group and email you the card 24-48 hours before you land. A$99 for the first traveller, A$80 with a visa from us, A$50 for each extra traveller.
